WE DID IT. 48% Women on Municipal Councils and School Boards!

Here are the Winning Statistics!

The Goal: 50% of Waterloo Region Municipal Councils and School Boards will be women.

Four of the eight Mayors and Chair are women.

50% in Wilmot Township

There has not been a woman councillor in the county since 1973.  Now three out of the five councillors are women. If the Mayor is counted, women make up half of the council.

Over 50% in North Dumfries

Two out of four councillors are women. The Mayor is a woman. That makes three fifths of the council female.

Over 50% in the City of Waterloo

Five of the Eight councillors and Mayor are women.

Close to 50% in Kitchener

Five out of ten councillors, five out of eleven including the male mayor.

Close to 50% in Cambridge

Four out of nine including the female mayor.

Way over 50% at the Waterloo Region Public School Board

Nine out of eleven trustees are female. The board chair and vice-chair are female.

Close to 50% at the Waterloo Region Catholic School Board

Four out of nine trustees are female
